Chairman’s Message

We are a young and enthusiastic family-orientated mini-rugby club based in the New Territories town of Sai Kung.

From humble beginnings 12 years ago, we have experienced a phenomenal success and growth. We are now one of the Top-5 biggest mini-rugby clubs in Hong Kong, with over 800 kids from the ages of 4-18 playing in the distinctive pink and blue of The Stingrays!

Our lower age-groups are supported by parents/coaches who have been guided through the coaching courses of The HKMRFU. This is a hugely rewarding dynamic with mums and dads sharing the early days of their childrens' rugby journey. This leads into our Youth Section (U13's upwards) who are coached and mentored by professional coaches, many of them current Premiership players and HK Internationals.

We are immensely proud of our Girl's section, one of the largest and most successful in Hong Kong. Our girls are welcome to play mixed rugby up to U12's, and we also offer Girls-only rugby from U9-U18.

Despite our growth we remain loyal to our roots, and encourage the core values which make rugby such a rewarding game for boys and girls of all ages. We actively teach the rugby Code of Conduct from the very earliest ages all the way through to our eldest Youth members. Much emphasis is put on teamwork and inclusivity to ensure fun and fair development in a safe environment for all.

We hope you enjoy finding out more about our club and hope to see you playing or supporting the Stingrays soon.

Matt Weston - Minis’ Chairman

Training Cancellation Policy

There are certain weather conditions that dictate whether or not we can train. Our pitch is a government facility and therefore we must abide by their rules. On occasions of heavy rain, it is possible that the stadium staff may close the pitch. In these situations, we have no choice but to cancel training, which is usually at short notice.

The stadium staff will not make the decision until between 07:30 and 07:45 on any Sunday. Once they do, we will SMS all coaches and ask them to contact all members accordingly. We will also publish a "NEWS" article on the website and update our Facebook page.

WE WILL ONLY CONTACT YOU IF TRAINING IS CANCELLED. If we don't contact you, training will go ahead as usual.

Please double check the website and Stingrays Facebook page around 07:45 each Sunday to see if a cancellation notice is published.
